GOSR (Goal ← Obstacles ← Solutions ← Resources) is a minimal, participatory structure for decentralized problem-solving. This site curates open methods, applications, and data.
Principles
- Transparency over control. Make structures and efforts visible so system participants can self-align to a common goal.
- Plain language. Keep ideas accessible for non-technical participants.
- Open reuse. Favor formats and licenses that enable remixing and research.
- Human-led. AI drafts and assists; people decide and steward.
Origins
GOSR builds on work by Kevin Kells, PhD, and collaborators across social computing, systems thinking, and societal problem-solving. The method is set out in Voltan & Kells (2026), Facilitating System Change With GOSR, in Systems Research and Behavioral Science (open access).
